This practical and enjoyable course is both theoretical and practical in nature. All delegates will be encouraged to extinguish a small fire using one of a selection of modern fire extinguishers.

The course begins with a classroom based session on the theoretical issues of fire, fire fighting, fire prevention and evacuation lasting approximately 11/2 hours.

During this session the following topics are covered: Fire—what it is, the Fire TriangleBasic Fire Prevention TheoryBasic Fire Fighting Theory

Evacuation -
phased, horizontal and vertical evacuation
places of relative safety & places of ultimate safety
Raising the alarm and calling the Fire BrigadeTypes and uses of extinguishersire Safety signage

The classroom session ends with a 10 minute video which varies according to your industry.

After a short break for refreshments we move outside for the practical session. North East Safety Training Services carry a number of various extinguishers. Subject to location small fires of either solid fuel or burning liquids are lit and extinguishing methods are demonstrated following which all delegates will get to use at least one type of extinguisher in a practical manner.

Our Fire Safety trainers are ex Local Authority Fire Service Officers and will provide your delegates with an interesting, informative and enjoyable course.
