REGULATORY REFORM (FIRE SAFETY) ORDER 2005 FIRE RISK ASSESSMENT - A ONE DAY COURSE

This course is designed for Managers of medium & large Hotels, Residential Care Homes, Nursing Homes and any premises where there is a ‘life risk’.

The main aim of the course is to provide Managers with a good level of understanding of the legal obligations in relation to safety law and certain key regulations. The day begins with a module on Health & Safety legislation, which includes the employers duties under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974. The regulations appertaining to the Management of Health & Safety at Work are included, covering the design of a Health & Safety policy , the arrangements made in order to comply with the law, as well as accident investigation, training and risk assessment.

After lunch, the second module deals with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. These regulations have a significant impact on Hotels and Residential Care Homes. They require that a suitable and sufficient assessment of risk be made for workplaces employing five or more persons. Life risk premises are particularly important in relation to fire safety & fire protection. Delegates will be given instruction on the practical application of the regulations as well as the methods needed to conduct the statutory risk assessments.

North East Safety Training Services supplies each delegate with a comprehensive note pack which contains guidance on your legal responsibilities and information on how to carry out risk assessments.
